In lieu of our recent disappointment, here is something that I hope will make you laugh.

And there we are...a bubble bath, ducky and man.

For the last 4 years, we have gone to our church's Fall-A-Palooza. It's always a lot of fun. And every year, we enter the costume contest and have yet to win. I mean can you believe it? Hehehe I think it's a conspiracy.
Ella and I waiting in line for the costume contest.

Notice how all the contestants are sitting down. Ella (if you can see her in the back) stood on the stage behind them the entire time and everytime another person was announced she would throw her arms in the air and jump up and down, much like a cheerleader would do. Our Ella is so shy.

We played lots of games.

And got lots of candy.

Ella loved getting her face painted. When we got home and had to wash it off, you would have thought the worst had happened. There was much drama.

Walking to the car after the end of a very long night.

This was after we got home and got all cleaned up. These are my two favorite pictures of the night. Our sweet, sweet girl!

I thought this was funny! I had to use Ella's Pooh Bear to make my hat and it made me laugh the entire time I was glueing the balloons on.

Because it makes me happy...
Halloween 2006

Heath couldn't make it this year, so I was a flower pot and Ella was a ladybug.

This is my FAVORITE! It's me & Ella, Amanda & Jackson, Sunni & Ava, and Melissa & Joshua. It cracks me up!

Halloween 2007
We went as 80's Aerobic Instructors

We missed Amanda & Jackson so much this year! We need to photoshop are babies' pictures together from this year so we can keep up the tradition.

I love it so much! You are so creative. They need to make a family category for the costume contest. Y'all so would have one.

That was so bittersweet to see! I made Curt come sit next to me and see you guys as a bubble bath, rubber ducky, and bathing man. Y'all are so funny! I am cracking up at that old pic of us. It's so bad! I got tickled at Ava's Princess Leia "hair."

I LOVE your costumes!! You guys are so very creative and funny. Why did you not win? And who did for goodness' sake? What could have been better than your costumes??

Thanks for the smile this brought me this morning, Janelle!

Oh and by the way? From Amanda's pictures of your Your Mom's house (I think), we have the same couch and almost the same dining table. The pictures of your kiddos together were wonderful!

I am calling you when I need costume ideas. Where were you for me this year?

Life In Progress said...

Ok, two things.

1. Ladybugs rock. Caroline was a ladybug this year, and I LOVED it!

2. Cleaning off any form of facepaint is always tragic in this house too. Much wailing and gnashing of the teeth!

You guys look awesome! You have some serious creativity with the costumes.
