Hello Mr. Milestone

Ella is officially in a big girl bed. Last week, Heath and I got her the cutest little toddler bed and made the plunch last night putting it together. I was NERVOUS, but more than that, I was sad! It's like the crib was the little bit of baby I had left to hold on to. And now the crib is in pieces and there's a bed in it's place.

But it's exciting! I love her little bed and it fits perfectly in her little room.

Ella's reaction when she first saw it.

As you can see, she was SO excited about her surprise.

She immediately had to make sure this bed bounced as well as her crib.

I think she's satisfied.

A family pic:

She did great in it last night. After we put her in bed, she played for about 30 minutes laying down with her stuffed animals, which is normal. At that time, I went in to check on her and sat on her bed and was talking with her for a minute, when she looked at me and said so sweetly:
"Mama, go out the door."
"What?", I said.
And she repeated, "Mama, go out the door."
I said, "Do you want me to leave?" She looked up at me with those sweet eyes and said,
"Yes."
So I guess a new independence has come with a new bed. But I'm okay with it. Really, I am. Really, I promise. I'm fine.

Bye, bye sweet crib!

How bittersweet is THAT?! I guess it just proves that your timing was perfect...and that you have Miss Independent on your hands!

Awwwww! At least Pablo gets to come to the new bed. How sad and funny that she scooted you out! As soon as Curt gets home we are shopping for Jackson's new bedroom stuff. I feel so bad every day when I put him in that crib.

I love that sweet surprise face! How fun. Gage tells me often to "Go way". Seriously, where do they learn that stuff! Glad she did so good!

I know how you feel! It's so sad to say goodbye to the crib. I didn't even realize when Ava's last night would be, because I didn't pay attention to the fact that she'd stay in our room a night to let the paint dry. So I couldn't say a GOOD goodbye to the crib!

Yay, Ella!!! What a big girl!!! I know what you mean, though! The transition out of the crib is sad! Asher's still in his, and I'm not sure what it will be like when he's in a big boy bed, although, I have usually made the transition out of the fear of them falling onto the hardwoods in their room from trying to climb out, which he hasn't realized is an option yet! Ahhh! I agree that her surprised look is PRICELESS!!!

Ok so you are fine so why do I have tears in my eyes?
I just love that expression on her face - she was totally ready for her big girl bed :)
She is precious!

Could your sweet child's expression be any more exciting?!

Goodness gracious she is precious. (And that just rhymed.)

And as for asking you to leave...oh my goodness. Too funny. She was ready to sleep in her new bed.

Sending much love your way, Janelle, as y'all transition to the next fun stage!

Oh the big step in the big girl bed! I love her reaction.

One plus is that the sheets are MUCH easier to change on a bed than on a crib!

That Ella is something else!! Her reaction to that bed made me giggle out loud! What a cutie! : )

The verse is from Hobby Lobby, believe it or not! A great deal!

Oh, it is hard to say goodbye to the crib. It's such a huge piece of their babyhood, such a tangible reminder that they grow up so fast.

But, it's so great that she took to her big-girl bed so easily. That is a blessing!

Okay, my very favorites are when she first saw it and when she was laying on her new big girl bed, reading a book! I'm glad you have this blog to record these special days! So precious!
Love,
Angie xoxo

What a big girl! Why does it have to happen so fast though? :(
