My New Wheels

Well, here she is. My new (very old) car!

Now I know what you are thinking. Why? Why would Janelle allow her husband to purchase her a 1989 Dallas Cowboy themed Suburban?

But follow me on this:
1) It only cost $1800!
2) No car payment.
3) It only cost $1800!
4) No car payment.
5)

Okay, that's really all I got. But it's kind of awesome in it's own unique little way. I mean we'll never lose it in the mall parking lot, right?

It does have some charm to it though. The inside is pretty awesome. Very plush seats and lots of room. And the best part about the inside is it's custom crafted wood panel sides with dear heads engraved in them. Huh?! I mean how can you pass that up.

All kidding aside, I really am okay with it. It's kind of fun. I think it will be functional for the time being for what we need it for. And a year down the road, if it's just not working out, we'll get me something else and Heath can use that for a truck. But I have a feeling she's going to be in the family for a long time.

One thing I do need help with though is naming her. Amanda said it best when she texted me after seeing the above picture of it, "That truck is just begging for a name." So bring on the suggestions.

I love it! We are in the EXACT same situation...we powered through our last foster placement in our station wagon (three car seats made it tight!). We are confident we need more space soon, so we're in the process of selling our older car to get a Suburban...just like yours!

Good luck naming it! Maybe something fetching like Lucinda or ironic like Greased Lightning? :-)

I love him/her! Looks especially cool and old school with the Texas plates. My husband and I have shared a 14 year old Jeep GC our entire marriage. She's old, but paid for! Her name is Mossy, because she is green and we live in the Pacific Northwest, where things are... well, mossy.

As far as names go... Star, Tex, Bubba, Big Burban? Gotta be uber Texan.

I love it! My family had that same Suburban in dark blue and we called it the Blue Goose. She lasted a really long time. Since yours is Cowboy themed I definitely like Cowgirl, as Stephanie suggested. Really, you can't go wrong! She's fab!

You rock!

As for names, maybe Bluebell- isn't that the Texan flower?

Hey, even though Bluebell isn't our flower it is the best ice cream around! :-) I LOVE cowgirl. You know I learned to drive in a suburban just like that, same style and all, probably an 85 or older though!!! You'll love it, even more so because it's paid for! Have fun!

I wish I could get my creative juices flowing, but they're really lacking right now. You could always call her "DC" Dallas Cowgirl for short.
