Weekend Update

Tis the season...we are in full swing. This has been a crazy weekend, fun but crazy. Here is what we did:

*Friday night the G-Force (Ella's Grandma's) were in full force. We shopped for 3 1/2 hours for shoes, stockings and a sweater to go with Ella's Christmas dress. We found those items plus much more, because after all they are the G-Force. They are unable to stop at just 3 items.

*Saturday morning we woke up early and headed to Fort Worth so my good friend, Amber, could take our Christmas pictures for our card! Oh my gosh...they are GOOD. She is amazing! I can't wait to show you, but I'm keeping them secret for a bit longer. Thank you so much, Friend!Okay, I couldn't help myself from giving you a sneak peak.

*Saturday evening, I got a text from Melissa saying that her, Josh and Gabe were headed to the Super Target right by house to do a little Christmas shopping. So Ella and I were happy to get out for a bit and had a playdate right there in the snack part with coke & popcorn!

*Sunday morning we went to church. It's decorated so beautifully for the season and we sang lots of Christmas songs. I love our church and I love our praise team. It was a very fun, full of worship morning. You know, one of those services where there is so much joy in the room.

*Immediately following service, we had a Honduras '09 Team meeting. I am currently not planning on going to Honduras this year, but I work for our college minister who leads the team, so I had to help for a bit, which I don't mind at all. I LOVE my job. However, I am really missing Curtis with all the Honduras planning we've been doing the last couple of weeks.

*At 2:00, I attended a shower of one of my sweet friends, Becca, who is pregnant with twin boys! I love that two of my very good friends are both having twin boys. So much excitement. It was a very nice shower and I am so happy for them.

*At 6:00, (yes, this is still Sunday) we had 1 of 3 Christmas services/Hanging of the Green. It was a great night. I decided to keep Ella in the service with me because all the children choirs were singing and there were lots of Christmas songs on the program. She did great for about 20 minutes, but then I was reminded that even though she seems older at times because she is such the missy prissy smarty pants, she is a two year old and lost all attention in the service. But I was able to keep her well distracted and free of a meltdown.

*At 7:30, (yes, it is still Sunday) we had a Sudan interest meeting! Y'all know how much I love Sudan, so I wasn't missing this. I still don't know if I will be going back this summer, but I think Heath is for sure. It was great to be back with our team and get to talk about a country we love so dearly!

*Tonight (Monday) I went to my mom's church's annual Women's Christmas Dinner. Last year Mandisa performed! This year, Lisa Whelchel , who was BLAIRE from Facts of Life, spoke. This was my first time to hear her speak and she was so good. Very sweet and fun! I was so wishing all my girlfriends with young children were with me because she spoke about how to bring Jesus into your Christmas traditions. She wrote a book about what she spoke on called The Adventure of Christmas. It was a fun night with my mom and mother-in-law. We decided tonight that this is a new tradition in the making.

It looks like things are not going to settle down until the new year, but it's okay. Many more fun things are planned and I just love this time.

I LOVE Lisa Welchel. I heard her speak once and she was excellent. I miss her blog. Also, I covet her 1980s Blair hair. I still love hot rollers.

Enjoy the holiday festivities!!
