I Want a Pink Pony

Ella's 3rd BIRTHDAY..3rd...THREE...TRES...SON...DEUX...is in 20 days! Oh, I can't believe it! I am going to have a 3 year old. Deep breath.

Birthday themes are so fun to do. Her first birthday was an "E" theme. Everything was E, from the invitations, to the cake to the decorations. It was so fun to put together.

Last year, was the Pablo themed party with Jackson. It was really Backyardigans, but the main star of it was Pablo because that is Ella and Jackson's favorite. Ella actually had two Pablo themed parties last year. The other one was a combined party with Ella's cousin Zach.

This year, I had not yet decided what the theme would be. It didn't hit me until last week that Ella might actually be old enough and have enough of a grasp on it to decide her own theme. What a concept I'm not used to.

So last week, Heath and I were telling Ella that she has a birthday coming up. We asked her what kind of birthday cake she wanted this year.

She thought for a moment. She does this really cute thing when she's thinking where she puts her finger up to her chin and goes, "hmmmmm".

Then she said, "A horsie!" I said, like your Little Ponies. She said, "yes". So it looks like we are having a My Little Pony themed party.

I called my mother-in-law right away to tell her so she could be preparing for a horsie cake because she always makes the fabulously themed cakes for her parties every year. She asked me which My Little Pony would Ella like. I didn't even think about a specific one, me being the most uncreative person on the face of the earth. So tonight I plan on getting online with Ella so she can decide specifically which one she would like.

A couple of days later, my mom told me that Ella had told her she wants a pony for her birthday. Not a My Little Pony, but an actual pony. My mom asked what color pony and of course her reply was, "PINK!"

Good luck Daddy trying to find a real pink pony for your precious little girl. hehe

My little Ella could not be more fun right now. I am so thankful for our sweet relationship!

What a great idea for Ella's 1st birthday.

I love planning birthday parties...it is so much fun!

A My Little Pony Birhtday cake and party will be perfect for such a sweet little girl. It is so crazy that My Little Pony's are back because I remember playing with them when I was a little girl.

Ok. I can't believe that Ella and Jackson will be 3 soon! That means that 3 years have passed since they were born and it feels like yesterday I was watching you and Amanda be pregnant together and I was a sophomore in college!!! I'm loving knowing your families and watching them grow!!!

Although I think it's illegal to dye a pony pink (like the little bunnies and chicks at Easter time), wouldn't it be fun to have one?? And the pictures would be way fun!

I love the theme with the E and the backwards E is a three, so perhaps this could also be an "E is 3" year.

How fun! I do believe 3 was our best year so far. 4, not so much. But it will be over in 9 days. I don't know if I am ready for that!

The E party was such a cute idea!

Just beware, she might change her mind about the My Little Pony theme 10 times before the actual party!

Oh I just loved the E theme...so cute! I love doing birthdays. My favorite one was my daughter's 4th birthday when we did a fairy birthday. She still talks about that one, and she is almost 8. :) Ella will have wonderful memories!
