Easter and Stomach Bugs, It's a lovely combination

For Easter this year, Heath, Ella and I went to Waco to spend time with Heath's mom and sisters. Easter weekend started with a bang. I woke up Friday morning sick as a dog.
Heath and Ella ran far, far away and went ahead and went to Waco without me, but they did wait until the worst was over to make sure I would be okay. It was definitely for the best that they got out of that germ infested home. I went on to Waco Saturday morning with Heath's sister Cathy.
I was so happy to reunite with them. Since being away from Ella for 8 solid days when I was in Honduras, just being away from her for one day is proving to be very difficult.

The stomach bug wasn't gonna bring me down and we had a fabulous Easter!

Dying Easter Eggs

Ella's finished product. Which turned out way better than our boring eggs.

Ella dyed a little more than her eggs. Notice also the multi colored socks she now is wearing.

The Easter Egg Hunt!

We watched an Easter service on tv because Heath's mom takes care of her aunt who has Alzheimer's and can't leave the house. After service, we had a delicious ham dinner and then on to the Easter Egg Hunt.

Her Easter basket from her Aunts...

...filled with lots of goodies.

My plan was to put Ella in this adorable dress that Jackie so sweetly gave to us, which I need to post pictures of because it's so cute, but it was SO cold on Easter that it would have been too miserable and I really wanted to hunt eggs in Heath's mom's gorgeous backyard.

I was afraid that Ella might still be too young to understand how to find the eggs. Boy was I wrong!

Evidence #1.

Evidence #2

"I think I see an egg in the tree."

"I do!"

So I'm pretty sure she gets it this year.

Basket is getting a little heavy now.

Ella with her Aunts!

Silly time with Easter gifts.

On the way home, Ella got a little bored and decided to put on just a smidge of her new chapstick.

Thank you Aunt Ashley. No really thanks.

P.S. Honduras post to come, I promise.

What a feast of wonderful pictures! I think Miss Ella is happy from her happy hair all the way down to her egg-dyed socks :)

So sorry you were sick, Janelle! We had friends in from Lubbock and both mom and dad got sick while they were here. :( I was glad they didn't try to drive home sick.

Have a happy week with your happiest of girls!

Ella is so well rounded. She is going to be a track star with those long legs and quick speed, but she will always know how to dress and wear the right shade of lipstick. We just need to work on the placement and the amount of lipstick. It looks like you had a great time! I'm so glad you're feeling better!

I was sick this weekend, too. Yuck!
It looks like you had a good time anyway.
It doesn't take long for them to figure out the egg thing!

About the chapstick... Aunt's are great for those kinds of things, aren't they?

Wow! You are brave! First, getting the stomach bug and staying behind. Second, letting Ella dye her own eggs. Maybe next year! Sorry you were sick...and glad that no one else got it!

I just want to squeeze that highly animated sweet girl. I loved how excited she was about egg hunting! It's the little things.

So sorry you were sick! That's so stinky. Hope you are getting back to normal! Those bugs are hard to recover from "quickly!" :)

Happy Belated Easter!

I love all the pictures especially the ones of her decorating her eggs. She looks like she is concentrating very hard. And of course the last one is priceless. At least she didn't eat her chapstick. I always did=)
