Happy 2nd Birthday, Joshua!

Saturday afternoon was Joshua's 2nd birthday party! Melissa did an awesome job! The party theme was a construction site and each child was working for Joshua. The invitation said,
"Foreman Joshua is turning two, which means there's lots of work to do. If moving dirt is your trade, then be there on the 3rd of May. Your shift begins at noon and lasts until two." So cute.

Ella giving the birthday boy a birthday hug.

The party was at our church and they had a huge pile of dirt delivered for the kids to play on, like a giant sand pit.

We first had lunch on these cutely decorated tables.

Then each child got a hardhat with their name on it and a shovel. It was the cutest thing.

Then it was off to the dirt pile.

This was kind of like a Parade of the Shovels. All the tods held them the exact same way and walked in a line to the pile of dirt. It was hilarious.

I really thought Ella was going to take one look at this huge pile of this thing called dirt and say, "ummm, no thanks, I'm good." But to my surprise, she did play in it a little, but there was definitely no climbing up the dirt pile to play "King of the Hill".

Ava and Ella working together to fill the bucket.

This is Ella's sweet friend from church, Karoline! Ella was holding the bubble wand out so Karoline could the bubbles.

How cute is Gabe, Peter and Melissa's second son, in the little toy truck?!

But she has NO problem getting messy when it comes to cupcakes.

Joshua and Ella thoroughly enjoyed their cupcakes and ice cream.
